Laxmi Prasad Upreti Elected Chairperson of National Cooperative Bank

Kathmandu : National Cooperative Bank has elected Laxmi Prasad Upreti as its new chairperson.

In the election held today, Upreti secured five votes to win the position, while his rival Paritosh Poudyal received two votes.

According to the bank’s bylaws, the chairperson is elected from among the seven members elected to the board of directors.

Upreti is also the former coordinator of the bank’s Audit Supervisory Committee. He was unanimously elected as a director from Koshi Province.

Previously, he served as a member of the Audit Supervisory Committee in 2013 and later took charge as coordinator of the committee in 2018 and 2022.
